When we receive your order, it is carefully catalogued in our system.
During the digitize old photos service process, your order is then expertly processed and properly adjusted to give the best photo quality.
Digital Dust Removal is also applied to any minor specks and imperfections when scanning photos to digital.
When your photos are complete, you’ll get notified that they are ready in the format you selected, and you’ll receive instructions on how to collect them.

For an additional cost, we are now able to COLORIZE Black & White Photos, including Black & White Film Negatives.
This is done by way of AI where the program scans a picture and allocates color to the objects, scenery, and landscape it can detect.

Photo Digitizing Service Prices
From just $0.54 per picture, you can convert photos to digital and preserve and share those photos that have sat neglected and unviewed for years.
- All photo digitizing services prices include automated color/contrast corrections and manual rotation.
- If your photos are labeled (people in the photos, place where it was taken), we can add these annotations to the final scans.
Prices are per-photo, and are based on DPI (dots per inch), which is the resolution that photos are scanned in. The larger the DPI, larger the photo.

*Dynamic Photo Scanning is a service that is based in our slideshow preparation where there are all sizes of photos, from the classic 1” x 1” black/white wallet-sized photos to the 8” X 10” portraits. This option automatically applies to all Slideshow preparation. The reason being is this will ensure a vivid, crisp picture viewed on a large screen from even the very smallest, oldest, faded photo.

What Is DPI?
DPI stands for Dots Per Inch. It’s basically the amount of information stored in the picture. Think of it along the same lines as megapixels on your digital camera.
The greater the DPI, the greater the resolution of a photo, and the larger its size.
Which DPI Is Right for Me?
That depends on what you plan to do with your pictures:
- For basic reprinting of your slides at 4×6 or 5×7 size, as well as emailing, 3200 DPI is probably fine for your purposes.
- If you plan on reprinting your pictures at a larger size, or do a lot of editing, then 4800 DPI is probably the way to go.
- For archival purposes or huge prints, we also offer 7200 and 9600 DPI.
- Most typical “convert photos to digital service” runs we provide for customers are small-to-medium DPI that digitizes photos near the same size they were taken in.
What Digital Format Are Scanned Photos Delivered In When You Convert Photos to Digital?
During a typical photo digitization service, the JPEG Format will be the default format used in which to save your files.
However, from previous requests, Recapture Your Memories can ALSO can save the images in a variety of different file formats, such as TIFF, BMP and many others…

Do I Have To Take Photos Out Of Albums, Or Can I Just Give You My Albums For Photo Scanning And Digital Photo Restoration Services?
